‘Lion’ is an emotional ride, here’s my review

Here we are, the last film review before the Academy Awards. “Lion” was the ninth film to be nominated as best picture, and I feel like it was a forgotten film as well. Not too many people have really been talking about this movie compared to “Manchester by the Sea” or “La La Land“, which is sad because it’s honestly a great movie.

‘Hidden Figures’ review

In the best picture category of The Oscars it can be somewhat rare to find a movie that isn’t depressing throughout and also includes a happy ending. “Hidden Figures” is one of those rare films, and what’s so great about it is that you can watch this family-friendly movie with the satisfaction that it’s not filled with cliche moments and a stupid ending.

‘Manchester by the Sea’ is the movie of the year

A lot of great movies have come out in 2016, and while some of my favorites weren’t mentioned during the Academy Award nominations, “Manchester by the Sea” definitely was.

‘La La Land’ is an overrated-wannabe-classic

 

“La La Land” was one of those movies that had A LOT of hype surrounding it before I was able to get the chance to see it. The media absolutely raved about it and because of The Oscar season I was expecting them to be right.
