I give Hulu a lot of credit for all that it has done within the past year. Netflix has forever been “the streaming service,” but Hulu has recently begun taking the reigns as a serious contender when it comes to streaming. They’ve slowly been working towards gaining momentum through their original content, but recently there has been a huge spike with their opportunities to grab bigger celebrities. They had James Franco starring in their recent mini-series “11.22.63” and now they have Aaron Paul starring in their new series thriller “The Path.” Continue reading

What if means ‘Supergirl’ gets cancelled
“Supergirl” is a show surrounding the comic book character of the same name. I honestly don’t know too much about her, but I do know that she’s the cousin of superman and also escaped Krypton before the planet’s life crumbled. She escaped to Earth where she was raised by a family and eventually became Supergirl.
I’m guessing by my brief description and admitting to not knowing much about “Supergirl,” you can already guess that I’ve never seen the show. Don’t get me wrong it has nothing to do with me not caring about a female superhero, it’s more about me not caring so much for the DC Universe that the CW has created.
On the other hand, while I may not be a big fan of the universe, I do want to talk about what it could mean if “Supergirl” is cancelled.
The ratings have so far been good for the show. After a pilot that gathered 12.96 million viewers, it seemed that the show would be in for a steady ride. Unfortunately, those viewers have…

Coming to Netflix: April
We’re a bunch of binge-watching fools, and Netflix is our lover.
The one thing that would have completely fixed ‘Batman v Superman’
So “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has had its weekend debut, meaning that everyone who has been wanting to see it has now had an opportunity. Which brings me to writing this spoiler-filled article.
The Wizarding World of Universal Studios
It was a bright and sunny day, I was spending the weekend in Universal City, Los Angeles for an ACP national journalism conference that the editors of my school’s newspaper attended. The hotel we were staying at was two blocks away from Universal Studios Hollywood and as I’m sure you know I am a huge fan of the cinema. So without hesitation I bought that $90 ticket and headed to what I thought would be my favorite part of the trip.
And boy was I right.
The entire theme park itself is a blast, letting you engage yourself in the world of movies. The only two rides that I didn’t get to enjoy were the Simpson’s ride and the Jurassic Park ride. However, with the Simpson’s I was still able to enjoy some time hanging out in Springfield and get a burger at the Krusty Burger. Missing out on the Jurassic Park ride was truly unfortunate, but everything else truly made up for it.
The Mummy, Transformers and the studios tour were probably my favorite. We took a ride through a ginormous city set where every block looked like a different city. At one point we would be driving down 29th street in NYC and the next we’d be driving down a dirt road in New Mexico. We watched multiple 3D shows including one where King Kong fought off a few T. rex’s. It was incredible for reasons that are honestly hard to explain. Our shuttle sat in between two screens that were very large, so any direction that you looked it looked as if you were sitting in a jungle next to King Kong.
It was an incredible day and towards the end there was a huge crowd surrounding the entrance to the newly built Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The park didn’t actually open until April 7, but the gate into Hogsmeade with the castle in the background was such a tease. People couldn’t help but crowd around the entrance just to get a glimpse of what was inside. As a huge fan of Harry Potter I wanted to go inside so badly, I’ve been wanting to go to the Universal Studios in Orlando specifically for Harry Potter since 2010. So I imagine you could understand my anxiety when I was standing at the gate and security guards were telling everyone that they…

The review I’ve been waiting for, ‘Batman v Superman
This review is 100% spoiler free. My spoiler review will be up in a few days.
Shonda Rhimes strikes again with ‘The Catch’
Within the past few years, it seems that Shonda Rhimes has made an incredible name for herself. I have never seen an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” or “Private Practice,” but I have seen both “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder.” For the most part they are both phenomenal and it is crazy to try and wrap my head around the fact that Rhimes just keeps striking gold.
‘Bloodline’ season one is worth giving a chance
The new and original series “Bloodline,” is an exciting drama/thriller that tries too hard to be realistic. With a dramatic overuse of the F-word during every episode and putting a cigarette in a character’s mouth for what seems to be every scene. It gives Netflix subscribers a story about family conflict, which seems to be a plotline used many times in the past. Although even with those flaws, series co-creators Glenn Kessler, Todd A. Kessler and Daniel Zelman have differentiated “Bloodline” from other shows with its amazing character development and a story that may sound familiar, but is incredibly original.
‘Man of Steel’ review
So I thought that because “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is coming out this week, I would take some time to watch and then write a review for its predecessor, “Man of Steel.” While I am motivated by “Batman v Superman,” this review will act as a standalone review and will not consider “Batman v Superman.”
Stop treating Zack Snyder like the bad guy
So I just wanted to take a moment to talk about the Zack Snyder and Grant Gustin controversy that’s been traveling around the internet. So let’s just take a moment and ignore the depressing “Batman v Superman” reviews, I’ll be putting mine online Thursday night, and talk about how Snyder is actually making the right decision.
